healthcareGIVES
What is a giving circle?
A group of individuals who collectively commit to make an annual donation and decide together where that donation should go.  This modest contribution of many becomes a large and powerful gift to an organization.  The healthcareGIVES circle is made up of medical professionals on the Seacoast of New Hampshire and Maine.  In coming together to pool these funds, we raise awareness about relevant concerns in our community.  In our first giving year, the group chose to focus on improving access to mental health.  In turn, Child and Family Services was awarded a $30,000 grant which enabled them to place a mental health professional on the streets of the Seacoast to help at-risk and homeless teens.
HealthcareGIVES strives to do more than just donate funds.  It's members are engaged in activities that educate health care professionals about each annual topic.  Our mission statement focuses on giving through ACTION, EDUCATION, AND DONATION.

Who can join healthcareGIVES?
Any medical professional wanting to support the Greater Seacoast area is welcome to become a voting member of the giving circle.  Our group currently consists of physicians, nurses, dentists, nurse practitioners, physician's assistants, physical therapists, dieticians, and hopefully you, too!

Why should I join healthcareGIVES?
By joining healthcareGIVES, you are working with colleagues to help organizations work within our community.  This is especially important at a time when the healthcare environment makes it hard for medical professionals to get together.  What better reason to come together than for the greater good of our community?

What does membership entail?
As a voting member of healthcareGIVES, you may become as actively involved as you wish. Some members are involved in committee or board work and help to develop grant applications, review grants, plan educational and social events.
By becoming a member of the giving circle, we ask that you pledge a minimum donation of $200 to the not-for profit the group chooses to support for the year.  This donation will not be collected until the end of the giving year and donations will be given directly to that organization, NOT to healthcareGIVES.
roup chooses to support for the year.  This donation will not be collected until the end of the giving year and donations will be given directly to that organization, NOT to healthcareGIVES.

Can I become a member if I am not a medical professional?
Non-medical professionals are welcome to join our group, but will be non-voting members.  These members are helpful in raising funds to keep our organization vibrant.  In the past, these members have helped support gatherings of giving circle members, and have donated funds and experience to develop our logo and get our website launched.

How do I join?
Please contact us by email at healthcaregives@gmail.com with your contact information.  Email is our main form of communication and it is how we keep you informed about each step of our giving cycle.

Where do I send my donation?
Donations can be mailed directly to the not-for-profit chosen or to us at PO Box 2 Durham NH 03824.  Please note, donations are made directly to the not-for-profit organization the group chooses for the year.  Checks cannot be accepted if they are made to healthcareGIVES, the giving circle does not have 501c3 status and, therefore, cannot provide a tax deduction for your gift.  For any questions or concerns, please contact us at healthcaregives@gmail.com.

How does a not-for-profit find grant information?
Each year, grant applications are posted through forums such as The New Hampshire Charitable Foundation.  If you think your not-for-profit would align with our chosen topic for the year, please email us at healthcare gives@gmail.com.
